Create an account and sign in

How to sign up, verify your email, sign in, reset a forgotten password, accept an invitation and pass the two-factor check.

This article covers everything on the way into IconEngage: creating an account, verifying your email address, signing in, resetting your password, joining a team from an invitation, and the two-factor check.

Create your account

  1. Open the sign-up page from the IconEngage website, or click Create an account at the bottom of the sign-in page.
  2. Enter your work Email.
  3. Choose a Password of at least 12 characters. A passphrase of several words works well; the strength meter under the field shows how strong it is.
  4. Click Create account.
  5. You see Check your email. Open the message we sent and click the verification link. The link stays valid for 24 hours.

Note: For your privacy, the page says the same thing whether or not an account already exists for that address. If the email doesn't arrive, check your spam folder, then use Send a new link on the same page.

Verify your email

Clicking the link in the email opens IconEngage and verifies your address. When you see Your email address is verified, click Continue to sign in.

If you see This link did not work, the link has expired or was already used. Enter your email address on that page and click Send a new link.

You can't sign in until your address is verified. If you try, the sign-in page shows Verify your email first with a Resend verification email button.

Create your organisation

The first time you sign in, IconEngage asks you to Create your organisation.

  1. Enter the Organisation name: your company or team name, as your teammates will see it. You can rename it later.
  2. Click Create organisation.

You become the organisation's Owner and land on the setup checklist.

Note: On most plans an account can own one organisation. If you reach your limit, the page says so and the button is disabled. Contact IconEngage to add more.

  1. Open the sign-in page and enter your Email and Password.
  2. Click Sign in.

If two-factor authentication is on for your account, you're asked for a code next (see below). After signing in, Owners and Admins usually land on Home (or the Dashboard once setup is done) and agents land in the Inbox.

If the email or password is wrong, you see The email or password is incorrect. After too many failed attempts, sign-in is blocked for a while. Wait and try again, or reset your password.

Sign in with Google or Facebook

If the sign-in and sign-up pages show Continue with Google or Continue with Facebook, you can use that account instead of a password. The same button creates an account the first time and signs you in after that.

If an IconEngage account already uses that email address, sign in with your password first, then connect Google or Facebook under Settings › Security. See Security and two-factor authentication.

Forgot your password

  1. On the sign-in page, click Forgot your password?
  2. Enter your Email and click Send reset link.
  3. Open the email and click the link. It works once and expires after one hour.
  4. Enter a New password (at least 12 characters) and type it again in Confirm new password.
  5. Click Reset password, then sign in with the new password.

Resetting your password signs out every other session of your account.

Accept an invitation

When someone invites you to their organisation, you get an email with a link. Invitations stay valid for 7 days.

  1. Click the link in the email.
  2. If you don't have an IconEngage account yet, you're taken to Create your account with the invited email address already filled in. Create the account and verify your email.
  3. If you already have an account, sign in.
  4. On Join organisation name, click Accept invitation.

You must use the email address the invitation was sent to. If you're signed in as someone else, you see This invitation is for a different account; click Switch account to sign out and sign in with the right one.

If the link says This invitation cannot be opened, it has expired or been revoked. Ask the person who invited you to send a new one.

The two-factor check

If you've turned on two-factor authentication, signing in takes one more step:

  1. Open your authenticator app and find the 6-digit code for IconEngage.
  2. Enter it under Authentication code. It submits as soon as all six digits are in.

Lost your phone? Click Use a recovery code instead and enter one of the recovery codes you saved when you set up two-factor authentication. Each code works once.

To sign in with another account instead, click Use a different account.

If your organisation requires two-factor authentication and you haven't set it up, you're taken to Settings › Security straight after signing in and must set it up before you can continue.

Single sign-on

If your organisation requires single sign-on, the sign-in page shows Your organisation requires single sign-on after you enter your password. Click Continue with single sign-on to sign in through your company's identity provider.

Sign out

Click your avatar in the top-right corner and choose Sign out.
