Mute notifications on your phone
Mute one chat, or every notification from an organisation, for 8 hours, a week or until you turn them back on.
You can mute a single chat that's getting busy, or mute everything from an organisation for a while. A mute affects only you. The chat still shows new messages in the inbox, and your teammates still get their notifications.
Mute one chat
From the conversation:
- Open the conversation.
- Tap the … button at the top right (Conversation actions).
- Tap Mute notifications.
- Choose 8 hours, 1 week or Always.
From the inbox list:
- Touch and hold the conversation.
- Tap Mute notifications.
- Choose 8 hours, 1 week or Always.
The app confirms "Notifications muted for this chat." A bell with a line through it appears next to the contact's name in the conversation and in the inbox list.
"No notifications for this chat on your phones. New messages still show in the inbox, and nobody else is affected."
Unmute a chat
- Open the conversation's Conversation actions (or touch and hold it in the inbox list).
- Tap Unmute notifications. Underneath, it shows how long the mute has left, for example "Muted until tomorrow, 18:30".
A timed mute ends on its own when the time is up.
Mute everything
- Go to More › Notifications.
- Tap Mute all.
- Choose 8 hours, 1 week or Until I turn them back on.
While everything is muted, you get no notifications from that organisation on any of your phones. That includes messages, assignments and billing notices. A banner at the top of the Notifications screen says until when.
You can also turn off Show notifications at the top of the screen. That's the same as Mute all › Until I turn them back on.
Turn notifications back on
Go to More › Notifications and do one of these:
- Tap Unmute in the banner.
- Turn Show notifications back on.
- Tap Mute all, then Unmute.
The Notifications row in More and in Settings shows the current state: On, Off, or "Muted until…".

Note: Mutes are saved on your account for the organisation you're in, not on the phone. They apply to every phone you're signed in on. If you belong to several organisations, mute each one separately.
