Webhook log
See every delivery Meta sent to IconEngage for your WhatsApp accounts, filter it, inspect payloads and replay events that failed.
Meta tells IconEngage about new messages, delivery updates, template decisions and account changes by sending webhooks. The Webhook log lists every one of these deliveries, so you can check that messages are arriving and replay any that failed to process.
Note: This log shows what Meta sends to IconEngage. To send IconEngage events to your own systems, see Event webhooks.
Open the log
Go to WhatsApp › Webhook log. The page is headed Webhook activity. You can also get there from:
- Webhook activity at the top of WhatsApp › Numbers and accounts
- All webhook activity for this account on an account's page
Deliveries are listed newest first, 50 to a page.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Received | When the delivery reached IconEngage. |
| Field | The kind of update, using Meta's name for it, for example messages, statuses or message_template_status_update. |
| Phone number | The number the delivery was about. |
| Status | How far processing got (see below). |
| Event id | The delivery's identifier. |
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Received | Stored and waiting to be processed. |
| Published | Handed on for processing. |
| Processed | Fully processed. |
| Failed | Processing failed. You can replay it. |
When new deliveries arrive while you are looking, you'll see "New events have arrived." Click Refresh to load them.
Filter the log
Under Filters, narrow the list by:
- Business account
- Field
- Status
- From and To dates
The end date can't be before the start date. Click Clear filters to see everything again.
Tip: To find problems quickly, set Status to Failed.
Look at a payload
- Click the details button at the end of a row.
- The Payload panel opens, showing the event's details and the delivery as JSON.
Customer phone numbers, names and message text are replaced (redacted) in this view. Click Copy payload to copy it, for example to share with support.
Show the raw payload
Owners, Admins and Developers can also see a delivery exactly as Meta sent it:
- Open a delivery's payload.
- Turn on Show raw payload.
The raw payload shows customer numbers, names and message text. Every time someone views a raw payload, it is recorded in the audit log.
Replay events
Replaying sends stored deliveries through processing again. Use it when deliveries failed, for example after a problem was fixed. Processing never duplicates an event, so replaying a delivery that already worked does no harm.
To replay particular events:
- Tick the rows you want.
- Click Replay selected. The button shows how many rows you ticked.
- Click Replay with the number of events (for example Replay 3 events) to confirm.
To replay everything in a time range:
- Click Replay range.
- Choose From and To. The range can be at most 7 days, by received time.
- Click Replay events in range.
You'll see how many events were queued for replay.
Activity for one account or number
Each account's page shows Recent activity, and each number's page shows Webhook activity for this number. These are short versions of the same log. If you have one account, the Activity tab on WhatsApp › Numbers and accounts shows it too.
Who can do this
| Task | Roles |
|---|---|
| See the log with redacted payloads | Owner, Admin, Supervisor, Marketing Manager, Developer |
| See raw payloads and replay events | Owner, Admin, Developer |
If you can't replay, the checkboxes and replay buttons don't appear.
