Plans and the free trial

What each plan includes, how the free trial works, what happens when it ends, and what the trial and over-limit notices mean.

Every organisation starts on a free trial and then moves to a paid plan. This article explains the plans, the trial, and the notices you see about them.

Note: Only Owners and Billing Administrators can open Settings › Plan and billing. Admins and other roles do not see the Billing pages in the menu, and a Billing link opened by them shows a "no permission" message.

Where to see your plan

Go to Settings › Plan and billing. The Overview tab shows:

  • Your subscription: your plan's name, its status, and its price.
  • What you are using: members and pending invitations, and connected WhatsApp numbers, against what your plan includes. A pending invitation uses a seat until it is accepted or revoked.
  • Next charge: the amount and date of your next payment, if one is scheduled.
  • Usage this period: your usage allowances. See Usage and allowances.
  • IconEngage charges and Your Meta cost, shown side by side and never added together.

The Plans tab lists every plan you can choose.

The plans

There are four paid plans: Starter, Growth, Pro and Enterprise. Each plan card shows its price, the features it includes, the seats, WhatsApp numbers and organisations it allows, and how much of each usage allowance you get every period.

Prices on the IconEngage website at the time of writing (in Indian rupees, excluding GST):

PlanMonthlyAnnual
Starter₹1,499₹14,990
Growth₹3,499₹34,990
Pro₹7,999₹79,990
Enterprise₹24,999₹2,49,990

An annual plan costs ten months' price for twelve months. The Plans tab in the app always shows the current price, with "+ GST" after it. See GST and prices. Before your first payment, you're asked for your business details for the tax invoice. See Business details and GSTIN.

In broad terms:

  • Starter includes up to 3 seats, campaigns, AI and integrations. It does not include automation flows or the public API.
  • Growth adds unlimited seats, automation flows and the public API.
  • Pro adds catalogues and orders, and larger allowances.
  • Enterprise adds single sign-on, SCIM provisioning, IP restrictions, audit log export and regional data placement. It also allows more than one organisation and WhatsApp number.

Every plan except Enterprise includes one organisation and one WhatsApp number. If you need more, contact IconEngage.

The free trial

A new organisation starts on the Trial plan. IconEngage assigns it; you cannot choose it. The trial includes campaigns, automation, AI, integrations and the public API, with up to 5 seats, one WhatsApp number and smaller usage allowances than the paid plans. You do not need a card to start.

While the trial runs, a bar at the top of every page says how many days are left, for example: "You're on a free trial — 5 days left (ends 11 Oct)." Owners and Billing Administrators also see Choose a plan. Everyone else is told to ask their account Owner. You cannot dismiss this notice. In the last two days it changes colour as a warning.

Paying during the trial

You can choose a paid plan at any time. Paying ends your trial that day: the paid plan starts at once, and any trial days you have left are not added on. See Change or cancel your plan.

When the trial ends

If you have not chosen a plan by the end of the trial, your subscription becomes Restricted:

  • Campaigns, automations and new template messages are paused.
  • Replies inside an open customer-service window still send.
  • Nothing is deleted. Your inbox, contacts and history are all still there, and you can still export everything.

Choose a plan to start sending again. Your trial usage still counts until you choose a plan.

Subscription statuses

StatusWhat it means
TrialYou are on the free trial.
ActiveYour paid plan is running normally.
Past dueA payment failed. The payment provider retries it automatically, and paying at any point restores everything at once.
RestrictedYour trial ended, or a payment stayed past due for 7 days. Sending is paused as described above.
CancelledYour subscription has ended. Choose a plan to start sending again.

When your subscription is past due, restricted or cancelled, a notice at the top of every page links to Go to billing. Only a past-due notice can be dismissed. For help with a failed payment, see A payment failed.

When you are over a plan's limits

Your organisation can end up using more seats or WhatsApp numbers than your plan includes. This can happen after you move to a smaller plan, or after a WhatsApp number is synced from Meta. When it does, Plan and billing and Plans show a notice for each limit you are over.

Being over a limit never removes anything. Everything you already have keeps working, including the extra numbers. You just cannot add more until you are back within the limit or move to a plan that includes more.

If you try to add one more (for example by inviting a member), you see You have reached your plan's limit. This is about your plan, not your role. Signing in as someone else will not lift it.
